Length of Course 1 year. Examination Board EMTA (Engineering and Marine Training Authority). Assessment Method and Component Percentages Practical tasks plus portfolio. The assessment and internal verification takes place at Minster College. Entry Requirememts Enthusiasm and dedication to learn. Students are expected to be punctual and attend regularly. How You Will Learn Every student will have the opportunity to develop the skills required in modern day machining and fitting by producing items of useful tools and test pieces. The practical tasks along with the portfolio evidence lead to proof of competence. Our team of qualified and experienced trainers/assessors assist and encourage you to learn and progress at your own pace. What You Will Learn You will learn practical tasks/skills in our workshop and attend theory lectures. Direct input from you the student. Subject Expectations Each student is expected to be a regular and punctual attender. Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy. Keep the portfolio up to date with regular entries. Maintain a high standard of Health and Safety. Work as part of our team. Career Opportunities We have a very high percentage of students continuing to complete a full apprenticeship within the local engineering industry and the armed forces.
