Length of Course GCSE (M) Modular Maths 1 year AS Maths 1 year A2 Maths 2 years Examination Board GCSE (M) AQA – SEG AS & A2 EDEXCEL Assessment Method and Component Percentages GCSE (M) – written exams in November, March and June. (Under review) AS Maths – 3 written exams in June. A2 Maths – 6 written exams. 3 sat in June of year 12 and 3 sat in June of year 13. Entry Requirements GCSE (M) - Candidates should have at least GCSE Maths at grade D or E. AS and A2 Maths - Candidates should have at least grade C in Maths and preferably have sat the higher tier paper. What You Will Learn GCSE (M) Maths in the context of money management, statistics and consolidation of work based on Algebra and shape and space. AS Maths You will extend your knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry and will study two of the following: Statistics, Mechanics or Decision Maths. A2 Maths You will extend your knowledge of differentiation and integration from AS and be introduced to some new topics as well as studying an applied maths module. How You Will Learn Within groups through teacher led lessons. By guided independent study. By use of specialist software. Subject Expectations Excellent attendance.
