The Island Engineering Centre (est 1990) was developed to meet the need for present and future high quality provision of engineering training on the Isle of Sheppey and the North Kent area to provide key engineering skills and associated Health and Safety training.
Originally based in Sheerness dockyard, the centre relocated in 1998 to our current base at Minster College.
The centre offers excellent workshop facilities including lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders, fitting benches and a variety of welding equipment. We also have a dedicated lecture area which is equipped with modern training aids including audio/video/DVD equipment, interactive whiteboard and desks and chairs in an area that will comfortably accomodate 25 to 30 students. We have access to an up to date copmuter suite with full internet access.
