Absence

Minster College places great importance on regular and punctual attendance. There are only three reasons for an authorised absence:

• Illness of the child
• Religious absences
• Permission granted by Headteacher

A note signed by the parent/guardian, dated and specifying the reason and the days/dates covered, must be produced on the day of return to the school. All medical appointments should be out of school hours if possible.

Minster College does not support students being taken out of school for holidays and this will usually be sanctioned.

Lateness

Lateness will be defined as any arrival after 8.30 am. Any student arriving late will be placed in the late room. Students who are late to lessons will be recorded in the class late book.

Letters and further disciplinary action will be taken against students who are persistently late.
